D.C. will be first in nation to offer non-binary driver’s licenses

Washington, D.C. will become the first jurisdiction in the U.S. to offer a driver’s license reading 

“X,” instead of “M” or “F” starting on Tuesday, June 27, 2017.

Oregon to offer non-binary driver’s licenses

Starting on Monday, July 3, 2017, Oregon residents will have the option to have the "X" gender designation.

California MAY offer non-binary driver’s licenses

June 26, 2017

California, with its more involved legislative process, will have nonbinary IDs by January 1, 2019 if the current bill language of SB-179 passes and is signed by the Governor.
